Introduction to the Chakras
Within every living body, there are said to be seven basic energy centers of consciousness, called chakras or "wheels” which whirl in a circular motion. These spinning chakra centers are aligned along the spinal column and balance our bodies on several different levels: emotional, physical, mental and spiritual. They attract anything they encounter on their particular vibrational level - including color.
Every thought (whether consciously or unconsciously, mental or emotional) is connected to a chakra. We stimulate our chakra centers through the different thoughts we have. Science has proven a positive thought allows our energy to flow freely and unrestricted.
To help balance a chakra, we need to bring in the chakra (color) vibration, which resonates at the same frequency. Wearing colored crystals is a simple way to be reminded to keep your thoughts pure and increase your level of energy which promotes self-healing. |

Seventh Chakra: Relates to Thought, Universal identity, oriented to self-knowledge This violet or fading to white is known as the crown chakra and is located at the top of the head as it relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond and a feeling at one with the universe. This chakra is our connection to our "higher selves" and to the "divine." It is the Enlightenment and the culmination of all the other chakras and thus is depicted by white. It is like our umbilical cord to "God."
When developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss |

Chakra Six: Relates to Light, Archetypal identity, oriented to self-reflection This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center and is related to mind, intuition, and heightened self awareness. This indigo (deep purply/blue) chakra is associated with thought and vision, particularly psychic vision. It is also the chakra of spiritual love and connection both physically and intuitively as it opens our psychic faculties. It also offers insight and visualization.
When healthy it allows us to see clearly, in effect, letting us "see the big picture." |

Chakra Five: Relates to Sound, Creative identity, oriented to self-expression This is the chakra located in the throat and is thus related to communication and creativity and positive self expression. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing language. This blue chakra deals with learning to take responsibility for one's own needs, confessions, and personal expressions.
The Throat chakra is about speaking the truth, self-expression and constructive communication |

Fourth Chakra: Relates to Air, Social identity, oriented to self-acceptance The fourth chakra is located over the heart and relates to love, balance, compassion, and self expression. It is the middle chakra in a system of seven. It is related to trust, forgiveness, unconditional love, patience, emotional empowerment, and other issues of the soul.
A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, and have a deep sense of peace and centeredness. |

Third Chakra: Relates to Fire, Ego identity, oriented to self-definition This power chakra is located in the solar plexus and is associated with will, personal power, and social identification. This yellow chakra rules our confidence, mental focus, as well as productivity and intelligence.
When healthy, this chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power. |

Second Chakra : Relates to Water, Emotional identity, oriented to self-gratification Located in the abdomen, lower back, and sexual organs. This orange chakra relates to the element water, and to emotions and sexuality. It connects us to others through feeling compassionate, friendly, and having a sense of belonging and humour
Ideally this chakra brings us pleasure and sexual fulfillment, deeper personal relationships, and the ability to accept change. |

 |
First Chakra: Relates to Earth, Physical identity, oriented to self-preservation The root chakra is located at the base of the spine and deals with human potential. It represents the element earth, and governs our physical existence, our bodies and our health in terms of feeling grounded, centered, committed and independent, having energy and vitality, strength and stillness, and the ability to digest foods well.
This red chakra brings us health, prosperity, and security. |
